![]() War score limitations are a thing for everyone, not just Russia. Without such consistency of standards the argument self-refutes, by necessity arbitrarily favoring some TAGs over others because reasons. I don't give a crap that "Russia usually underperforms" and anybody using that as an argument has some explaining to do as to why other nations that did well in history with weak start positions aren't similarly boosted to silly extents in 1444 to make it happen. In this context you can definitely make a case that Muscovy is too strong at the start. Some starts are easy, others are challenging. The goal of 1444 is not to "create historical outcomes", it's to reflect strength of nations right then. I would describe Muscovy as a moderate difficulty nation for an average player.ฤก444 attempts to be somewhat faithful to actual 1444 position. ![]() It's also very easy to get too ambitious and get beaten down by the PLC and others if you take them on too early. While it's not particularly hard for an experienced player to make Muscovy into mega-Russia quite early, less experienced players may run into trouble with Muscovy's poor economy and vast, underdeveloped territory, as well as it's vassal swarm limiting the number of allies you can have. I haven't played Muscovy since 1.30, but based on my prior experience I'm gonna disagree with you. Often AI Russia will consolidate a bit and expand eastwards but will be stalled well before conquering Belarus, Ukraine, or the steppe, let alone having the strength to take on the Ottomans. While a player is often crafty enough to prevent this, the AI usually isn't. The AI really has a hard time with Muscovy's poor economic situation, and IIRC the way Muscovy's mission tree is laid out means that you can be blocked from getting future claims if you don't take all of Novgorod before Sweden gets it. In the hands of the AI, I frequently see Muscovy underperforming, not overperforming. I would describe Muscovy as a moderate difficulty nation for an average player. ![]() While it's not particularly hard for an experienced player to make Muscovy into mega-Russia quite early, less experienced players may run into trouble with Muscovy's poor economy and vast, underdeveloped territory, as well as its vassal swarm limiting the number of allies you can have.
